An old journal entry I found the other day.
July 25th
It was rather overcast today, and in the afternoon, we had a violent rainstorm. It poured, first in filmy sheets, then in thick bucketfuls. Everyone (in Utah, at least) was grateful, for we're in a drought, and droughts mean shorter showers, less bathing and itchy, dead lawns. Today the H2O slid very gracefully in large waterfalls off the roof and into the gutters. It was quite pretty, seeing the mountains and valley take a well-needed, highly-deserved cleansing. The house looked nice, too, and all of the thick, gray clouds held back the wicked hot rays of the devilish sun. The temperature dropped from the regular bloody ninety-five to a deliciously relaxing seventy-six, a good twenty degrees of difference. The wind blew thin wisps of cool air all around so the oxygen all through the yard didn't feel so heat-thick and dry, and instead of sucking all of the hydration out of you, it reinforced in inside. It was a great day. I made paper snowflakes and played outdoors in the clammy feeling of protection around everything without the dreaded danger of ultra-violet light from the sun. The wet and water pleased everybody in Utah, probably, except the cat. Hunter hid all day, he's not fond of so much moisture. It's not raining anymore, but the clouds are still heavy overhead. The moon appears as a fuzzy yellow patch of felt high above the hills.
And then I went on to list the Major Problems of the World that I would Love to Fix but are Way Out of My Control.
Dang, I had grammar problems! I hope you liked that entry as much as I did.

Welcoming 1975... or perhaps 100 B.C.
I simply refuse to accept the fact that another year is gone, so if you ask me what year it is, do not be surprised by my response.

Triops!

Ever heard of triops? They are these adorable little crustaceans that are known for their unique little 'aqua'-batics. I have five of them in a little fish bowl. Their names are Shakespeare, Kelly, Fantin, Jeanette and Rubie. Except, due to cannibalistic natures, Rubie was eaten by one of his siblings yesterday. I guess that means I need to give them more fish food so that they don't eat anymore of each other. However, the bowl they are in is rather small, so it will probably be "survival of the fittest." And it looks like Jeanette will be the next entree for the others. :^(

Family Camp-Summer 2006
Family Camp is a lot of fun! I remember that a little while after that picture was taken, my brother and cousin were out exploring when they found a bandana and some black hair sticking out of the ground. We got really scared (we thought it was a body) and told my dad. Upon digging it up, we found that it was a dead skunk. Pee-yew, what a stink!!!
